Every Silver Lining Has A Cloud

Had phone call with my boss this morning. The university sent me a contract with the wrong dates on, a 10 month contract for 6 months work and pay. In other words they are withholding money from me by extending the payment time by 4 months. I pointed out to him that this was illegal and he said that the only other choice was to take a 30% pay cut. I asked him if he would like to do that and he said no but that he was unable to give me any other option.
I hate them. I hate having to work for them. I hate having to work.

Mix & Match

Today my tights match my favourite flavour of Green & Blacks, butterscotch.

My Life As An Invalid - Day 2

Here is my very healthy breakfast, avocado on spelt bread. I had chai tea with honey and soy milk as well. Before that I had a pint of expresso in order to even get out of bed. Stella got up a 6.30 for chicken and rice and a wee and a poo. The general rule of thumb with puppies is 'something goes in, something comes out'. We are going to the park now then I am going to attempt to wash my hair. I will probably be back in UCL by lunch time. I feel much better now I have dumped the pain killers they gave me for ordinary paracetamol. I have no idea how I managed to become a drug addict all those years ago I can't cope with them at all.

My Life As An Invalid - Day 1

Tracey came last night with bags of Yorkshire Provender soup in Pea and Beetroot flavours. Jess called in the morning and arranged to come and help me get  few things done. Had a bath which was essential as was really sticky and vile. Pretty difficult to do though, washing not too hard, drying much harder. Purchase 2 jewel coloured scarfes to replace NHS bandage sling which does not go with anything I have and makes me look like a victim of the Crimea. Jess took me to Soho House for chips and salad, man at door said I was the most glamourous injured person he had seen. I had on my yellow printed Parkinson dress, one I had just collected when I fell and a shocking pink sling.
After that we did some errands, went to Hyde Park with Stella and Waitrose on Kensignton High Street.
The plan was to get some hot chocolate from Artisan Choclatier on Westbourne Grove but the pain killers made me feel so sick I couldn't face it. At that point I realised I was seriously unwell and went home to bed.

Lunch

A warm Eccles Cake and a slice of Lancashire Cheese from Neil's Yard cheese shop in Covent Garden. Perfect. Although I am going to have to go back on the beetroot soup and fruit salad diet sharpish or I am going to be in full on Hattie Jacques mode before I know it. Now it's got cooler and darker I really do just want to eat and sleep.

The French Connection

I love Vogue Paris. Always one of my favourite fashion magazines it went distinctly down hill when Carine left but a few months later Emmanuelle has recovered my readership (her job is safe). Carine was well known for her dark S & M photoshoots and they were very much missing from the last few months editions. Now Emmanuelle has reworked her trademark sunny shoots to incorporate a bit of the dark stuff. Presenting Bondage and Submission in the sunshine.

Before Night Falls

I have all these idea's about what I might do and where I might go. Then it gets cold and dark and I find myself looking out of the window and thinking that I just might stay home.

Love Is The Law

Our method is science, our aim is religion.'

Abandonment Issues

Our fu*king Blackbree ain't working. It's been dayz........

Lazy Wednesday Afternoon

Stella and I had to wait in for the fire alarm man to come with our new 'heat detection' system. Time for a nap and to update our blog. What is fabulous about our new system is that it detects heat not smoke which means that I can burn incense with impunity from here on. Normally I have to begin each ceremony by standing on tip toes on a chair sellotaping a plastic bag over the fire alarm. This is not fail safe system and I have had to resort to beating a number of over zealous fire alarms to death in an effort to get them to stop screeching.

Bad Moon Arising

Up at the crack of 8.15 (the hour of the moon) on the morning of the Aries full moon. I have been working with planetary days and hours recently which has been fun. If you are interested have a look at the Lunarium website which does calulations for you. You don't have to be involved in serious practice to incorporate planetary hours into your neurosis but it could be fun. If for example you are planning to purchase a lottery ticket then consider buying it on Thursday (day of Jupiter) planet of luck during the hour of Jupiter (see link) and see if it works. What is great about planetary hours is that it puts the night back where it belongs. In this system Saturday night lasts from sunset Saturday to sunrise on Sunday. No more 24 hour clocks - hurray.

And You Say Nothing At All

I feel that I have been demoted from friend to stalker now that I man I was kind of ‘seeing’ has ignored 4 attempts to contact him. 1 email, no response, not surprised as he doesn’t use email much, 2 BBM messages no response, very odd as we ‘talk’ on Blackbree most days, 1 phone call – he didn’t pick up, I didn’t leave a message.
Lucky I have been working on my attachment and abandonment issues! My friend Jo was saying that we never really know what’s going on when this stuff happens but that it is a fantastic opportunity to question core beliefs about self or men that can arise at times like this.
It’s a trick and I am not going to fall for it. I know that the caprice of another cannot dictate my future happiness but my belief system certainly can.

Ladies Who Lunch

Look here is Stella having lunch in a proper restaurant earlier today. We were at the rather expensive but dog friendly 202 cafe on Westbourne Grove. Other than that I have discovered that dogs are allowed in Mildred's vegetarian cafe on Wardour St, Mrs Marango's next door, Maison Berteaux, Flat White and The Milk Bar.

Such a perfect day

Stella and I spent Saturday evening walking through Green Park.
We were enjoying the last few unexpected days of summer that graced us until yesterday. We walked around Berkeley Square and Bond Street.

I wonder what Stella will make of winter ......
